AFRAN KELLO FARMERS’ COOPERATIVE UNION (LTD)
Afran Kello Farmers Cooperative Union (AKFCO) was voluntarily established on April 5, 2005 by 48 primary cooperatives which have 6,438 members with initial share capital of 546,747.02 Ethiopia birr to solve socio economic problem of members beyond the capacity of primary farmer’s cooperatives.
At present
The number of primary cooperatives affiliated to the Union are 151. which makes the members 46,004 (36,663 males and 9,341 females), and the union capital was increased to 133,240,531.55 ETB.

The union was established to solve socio economic problem of members which is beyond the capacity of primary farmer’s cooperatives.
Working Area
Afran Kello Farmers’ Cooperative Union is a smallholder farmer-owned cooperative union based in the Eastern Hararghe Zone of Oromia regional State, Ethiopia.

The working scope of the union was 10 districts found in the Eastern Hararghe Zone namely; Kersa, Haramaya, Konbolcha, Jarso, Fedis, Gursum, Babile, Cineksan, Midhega-Tola and Mekenisa-oromo districts
Headquarter
The headquarter of the union was located at Maya City, Haramaya subcity, on the way of Haramaya University.
Team
The Union has nine key managements: General Manager, Deputy General Manager, Financial Department Head, Input and Supply Department Head, Plan and Evaluation Department Head, Human Resource Department Head, Farm Service Center Project Head, Seed Multplication Project Head, and Store Head, as well as a general assembly consisting of two representative chairperson and deputy chairperson from each of the one hundred and fifty-one cooperatives
